On Wednesday 11th March and Thursday 12th March, Cairnlea Park P.S. will be having our Information Exchange sessions that will give parents, teachers and students an opportunity to discuss expectations and any concerns. It is very important to establish a teacher/parent relationship to support student learning in 2015. The conferences will run for 10 minutes each and we would appreciate if parents were punctual. If further time is required, you are most welcome to make an appointment to continue your discussions at a mutually agreeable time at a later date.
Please allow 10 minutes between sibling’s appointments to allow time to travel between classrooms.
We use an online system for booking conferences. Information for using the online booking system is available by clicking here.
Simply go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and follow the instructions provided.

We all want our students to have a great education. The building blocks for a great education begin with students coming to school each and every day.
Missing school can have a major impact on a child’s future – a student missing one day per fortnight will miss 4 full weeks by the end of the year.
There is no safe number of days for missing school – each day a student misses puts them behind, and can affect their educational outcomes.
Coming to school every day is vital, but if for any reason your child must miss school, there are things we can do together to ensure they don’t fall behind:
- Speak with your classroom teacher and find out what work your child needs to do to keep up.
- Develop an absence learning plan with your teacher and ensure your child completes the plan.
Remember, every day counts. If your child must miss school, speak with your classroom teacher as early as possible.
The 2015 School Council Election process will commence on Wednesday 18th February with the call for nominations.
Nomination forms for both Parent and DET employees will be available from the office as of Wednesday 18th February.
Nominations close at 4.00pm on Wednesday 25th February 2015.

I also wish to thank our retiring parent School Council members for their efforts and dedication to our school during their time on School Council, Simone Walters, Kim Bhatti Natajlia Nesvadba and Maria Kiselis. Their work has helped make our school the great place it is for children. I invite all parents to consider nominating for School Council and take an active role in their children’s education.
