Life Education Parent Information Session

As part of our drug and health education this term, we are offering parents the opportunity to visit the Life Education Mobile classroom while it is at the school.

Have you ever considered the following?

  • What is my child learning in Life Education?
  • Have you seen inside the Life Education mobile classroom, or know of Harold?
  • What drug education is appropriate for primary school students?
  • Why do we have health and drug education?
  • How is drug and health education integrated into the school’s curriculum?

Want to know more?

A Life Education Parent Information Session will be held on Friday June 7th from 1.30pm – 2.30pm.

Please contact the school (9363 1187) if you would like to attend this session.

Education Week

Education Week will be celebrated from 19 – 25 May 2013.

As part of Education Week, we will be holding an Open Morning on Tuesday 21st May from 9.00am to 11.00am.

All parents are invited to attend the morning activities.

At 9.00am there will be a Parent Information Session to be held in the foyer of the gym. It is highly recommended that you attend this session as we will be providing important information on how you can support your child’s learning at home and at school.

This session will cover strategies on how you can support your child at home in:

  • reading
  • writing
  • mathematics

It will also include information for parents who are interested in helping in their child’s classroom or becoming more involved in the school community.

Following the parent session you are invited to visit your child’s classroom to join in with their morning activities.

Parents are then invited to return to the gym foyer at 10.30 for morning tea.

To assist with planning arrangements, could you please notify the school (9363 1187) if you will be attending the Information Session and Morning Tea.

We look forward to your participation in the morning’s events and see it as a valuable way of supporting your child’s learning at school and at home.

Year 6 Camp: 31st July – 2nd August

The Year 6 camp to Ace Hi is now scheduled for 31stJuly to 2nd August. The camp is now proceeding as previous work bans and industrial action have been lifted due to the dispute between the government and the Australian Education Union being resolved.
However, response to the camp has been low, so we ask that parents indicate their intent to send their children to the camp as soon as possible, but no later than May 14th, so we can plan the camp. A separate reminder notice has been sent to all year 6 children.
